<p>For some time I&#8217;ve had kit in both Sydney and the US.  Whilst most of my key services run off of my VPS in the US, and I intend to keep it that way, it seems a shame not to make better use of the kit I have in Sydney.</p>
<p>So thanks to PowerDNS, the geo backend, nerd.dk&#8217;s IP-&gt;Country mapping, and some experimentation, I can now start balancing services across the sites.</p>
<p>Currently, I&#8217;m only using it for the Single Sign-On system (more on that in another post), but ultimately I&#8217;ll expand it to cover a few more things &#8211; maybe even this blog.</p>

<p>Like, say, a system component needing to be installed that wasn&#8217;t required previously.</p>
<p>If anyone else tries to install KB967831 for Office Communications Server 2007 R2, bear in mind you need to install MSMQ on the server first.</p>
<p>That&#8217;s 1 hour of my life I&#8217;m never getting back.</p>
